Covid 19 Worry?

We are bringing home our puppy next week. Are there any concerns with exposing the puppy to people outside of our household due to covid?

Although so far most pets do not express illness when exposed to Covid 19 it is possible for them to serve as a mechanical vector, meaning they can carry the virus from one place or person to another.  There are isolated cases where dogs and especially cats living in a household with Covid 19 positive people have expressed either respiratory of gastrointestinal symptoms of coronavirus infection.   Social distancing as well as surface disinfection (sprays, bathing) are effective tools to reduce the likelihood of transmission of the disease.
